Sew each exquisite block to build your own quilt using Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics.
In two shipments *see details below* you will receive a total of 12 beautiful boxes containing instructions and Liberty Tana Lawn® fabrics to make your English Paper Pieced (EPP), patchwork and appliqué blocks, building into your own gorgeous Liberty quilt. Each block is then sewn together to make the finished quilt top at the end of the project.

The exquisite Alice’s Wonderland Quilt combines a variety of quilting techniques in one stunning sampler quilt which uses 100 Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics. Using a variety of machine and hand-sewn techniques, this quilt will improve your sewing skills. Gorgeous patchwork designs such as square-in-a-square, checkerboard, log cabin and Ohio Star combine with beautiful English Paper pieced (EPP) blocks and raw edge applique animals, flowers, butterflies, hearts and stars.
Alice says “I’ve always loved sampler quilts and have always wanted to create a Liberty sampler quilt. It’s really fun and interesting to make a quilt with lots of different techniques and blocks. I love the expression of creativity within sampler quilts; as time passes they become treasured heirlooms. This quilt aims to showcase the skills and creativity of the maker. In our not-so-distant past, women didn’t have many opportunities to express themselves creatively so sampler quilting offered a powerful way to do so. This gorgeous quilt brings together many different, fun designs in one place to create a Smorgasbord of quilting designs. I especially love the use of vibrant patterned Liberty fabrics alongside the ivory white, showcasing the Liberty prints so well. When designing this quilt I researched lots of traditional quilts, many from my grandmother’s quilt books from the 1970s and 80s. As a result, I love both the traditional blocks I’ve made as well as the more unusual ones too.”
Starting with the simplest patchwork techniques and building from there, you will learn one or two specific base techniques across ten different blocks, each one creating completely different patterns simply by using new arrangements and placements. Full sized EPP and applique templates, including Alice’s hand-drawn designs, will be provided. Each block forms a 6” square which then joins together at the end with the other blocks to make the finished quilt comprising of 100 beautiful blocks.
After you have made your main blocks, the stunning rainbow border of the quilt will be added in the final 2 boxes. It includes a double rainbow border, an ivory border, and a further square-in-a-square rainbow border using 30 of the same prints from the main quilt to tie the whole colour scheme together.
This version of the quilt was originally run as a Block of the Month (BOM) subscription. The subscription is over but by purchasing this full quilt kit you will be able to make the Alice’s Wonderland Quilt for yourself. If you missed out on joining the BOM at the time then this is your chance!
