‘I Like To Party’ Mini Quilt by Jemima Flendt: Fabric & Equipment Requirements

This is not a pattern. This is a list of requirements designed to go with a pattern which will be released as part of our Sew-Along Festival.  

Fabric requirements:
• 3⁄4yd (70cm) Background fabric (We recommend Rose & Hubble True Craft Cotton White)
• 14 – 10in squares of print/coloured fabrics (Choose the perfect 14 different Liberty Tana Lawn® FQs)
• 1⁄4yd (20cm) Binding fabric (Choose the perfect Liberty Tana Lawn® LQ or Liberty Quilting Cotton LQ, simply add a single FQ to your basket but in the checkout add a note requesting it be cut as a LQ instead. Jemima has used Liberty Tana Lawn® Altamira A for her binding.)
• 30in x 30in (77cm x 77cm) Batting
• 30in x 30in (77cm x 77cm) Backing fabric (We recommend Liberty Tana Lawn® or Liberty Quilting Cotton) 

Equipment:
• Machine sewing thread and thread for chosen method of appliqué (We recommend Aurifil or Gütermann threads)
• Lead pencil
• Erasable fabric pen (We recommend Pilot Frixion Heat Erasable Pen)
• Fusible Web (We recommend Bondaweb)
• Rotary Cutter, ruler and mat
• General sewing supplies
• Sewing machine with a foot for appliqué (Open Toe foot or Zig Zag foot works well)

Project made using:
• Raw edge appliqué by sewing machine

Liberty Street Wall Hanging by Janet Clare: Fabric & Equipment Requirements

This is not a pattern. This is a list of requirements designed to go with a pattern which will be released as part of our Sew-Along Festival.  

Fabric requirements:
• Liberty fabric scraps (at least 1” wide) to piece a background measuring 20” x 8” approx. (We recommend Liberty Tana Lawn® Multi-Coloured All-Sorts 100g or Ultimate Rainbow Fabric Pack – 20 Fabrics)
• Scraps of Liberty white on white fabric print for the appliqué houses (We recommend a FQ of Liberty Wiltshire Shadow Quilting Cotton White Z, the same fabric that Janet has used on her sample)
• Fusible web (for example Bondaweb or Hotfix) (Find Bondaweb here)
• Wadding 24” x 10” inches approx.

Equipment:
• Neutral thread for piecing, a dark contrast colour thread for free motion stitching and hand sewing thread (We recommend Aurifil or Gütermann threads)
• Water soluble fabric marker or soap (We recommend the similar Pilot Frixion Heat Erasable Pen here) 
• Hand sewing needle
• Sewing Machine
• Quarter inch seam foot
• Free motion darning foot (not with a stitch regulator or a walking foot) 
• Drawing pins
• Staple gun and staples
• Pine timber lengths, approximately 30mm x 20mm (1 ¼” x ¾” inch approx.) or artist stretcher bars

Project made using:
• Patchwork by sewing machine
• Free-motion stitching by sewing machine
