Alice’s Wonderland Sampler Quilt
“Sampler quilts have long held a special place in the hearts of quilters. I’ve loved them for many years and have always wanted to design one.” Alice
Sampler quilts are endlessly joyous due to the large variety of blocks and techniques used. Whether you find resonance in the rhythmic repetition of patchwork, enjoy the artistic freedom of raw-edge appliqué, or seek the meditative precision of English Paper Piecing, this quilt offers a playground for your sewing aspirations.
I also love a rainbow and made this quilt using 10 rainbows of Liberty Tana Lawn!
A sampler quilt is a brilliant way to enhance your sewing skills or simply perfect the ones you already have.
I designed the quilt using 100 different Liberty fabrics because I am such a huge fan! I just love rainbows too.
We’ve put together the perfect bundle to make this quilt

You could use any of the blocks to mix and match to create new different sized quilts, perhaps a cot quilt, or single size or cushions. Pick your favourites and combine them in your own way.
There are 100 blocks in total with sashing and borders to complete the quilt. Learn new skills, or develop existing ones, by using some of the following techniques: strip piecing, half square triangles, diamonds in squares, english paper piecing – all surprisingly easy to learn!
I’ve always loved sampler quilts and this quilt was a wonderful opportunity to mix traditional quilt blocks with new blocks that I had such fun designing. I also love using a mixture of techniques in a quilt. I couldn’t resist adding some of my favourite things like cats and butterflies.
“I’ve just finished my quilt 🎉. I’ve so enjoyed this project, it’s helped me to grow in confidence and to learn new skills. Thank you so much to the Alice Caroline team for organising this BOM. I’m looking forward to the next one.” Elizabeth
“Finally I have finished my quilt in time as a wedding present for my son’s wedding. Thank you Alice Caroline! My son and his wife absolutely love the quilt and will treasure it always.” Davina
“Yaaay finally finished this epic quilt. I’m over the moon with the result. Well worth the time and effort.” Sarah

“I have so enjoyed making this, my first quilt! I have learnt so much and I love the colours and patterns. Best form of mindfulness I have found. Thank you to Alice Caroline and her team for a wonderful project!” Susan
“All 100 blocks sewn together and I’m working on the borders. I’m still enjoying every step of this quilt and I don’t really want it to end…….but I also want to finish!” Sue
“I have learned so much from the project and am thrilled with it – the imperfections show me how far I have come.” Wendy
I’ve always loved playing with fabrics, finding particular joy in combining colours. Finding a snippet of Liberty amongst my grandmother’s quilting stash of worn-out dresses and vintage fabrics was always a highlight and, from there, my passion for Liberty fabrics grew.
I’ve been running my business for over 10 years and love spending time designing sewing patterns and kits. Many of my kits are stocked in the iconic Liberty of London store which is always so exciting when I visit. One of my favourite things is designing quilts – I simply adore getting lost in both design and Liberty fabric choosing. I love how quilting brings us together, across ages and continents – I love sharing the quilty Liberty love worldwide. Alice xoxo
A sewing machine: It doesn’t matter how old your machine is – as long as it can do a straight stitch this will be fine.
Other supplies you will need to complete your quilt:
You will receive all of the coloured Liberty Tana Lawn® fabrics needed to create the top of the Alice’s Wonderland quilt.
The 100 different Liberty Tana Lawn® fabrics in the bundle may not match those shown in the book exactly as some of the fabrics originally used in the quilt are now out of print. It also varies based on the stock we have at the time, but the fabrics in your bundle have been chosen with the greatest of care and are intended to match the book’s fabrics as closely as possible, taking into consideration colour, tone, density, scale, the technique being used and the overall rainbow. Click here to have a peek at the fabrics in the most recent bundle.
Please Note: You will NOT receive the following in this fabric bundle: The white quilting cotton background fabric, wadding, binding or backing fabric. Please see FAQ above for amounts of fabric needed for these.
The amounts of Liberty Tana Lawn® fabric supplied in this bundle are sufficient for cutting all the required shapes according to the cutting layouts (info on where to find and download these cutting layout diagrams are in the book). You may have some small pieces left over and we recommend keeping these for small crafting projects in future.
This quilt is suitable at both a beginner and intermediate sewing level (although even if you are a super experienced sewer you will still love taking part in making this quilt).
Finished quilt size 80” x 80” (203cm x 203cm) This is a double bed (queen) sized quilt.
