You can choose ANY Liberty Quilting Cotton fabric that is on our website, please write the fabric name and code in the “order notes” section at checkout. Otherwise we will send you Emily Belle Powder Rose fabric (pictured first), Emily Belle Candy Floss (pictured second), or as similar to that as is in stock at the time.
You will receive either one piece sized 160″ x 44″ (406cm x 111cm) OR two pieces sized 80″x 44″ (203cm x 111cm) each.
Either will work for the backing fabric as described below.
If a continuous 160″ (406cm) piece given: Cut this in half to make two 80″ x 44″ (203cm x 111cm) pieces, sew these two pieces together to make a piece that is approx. 80″ x 86″ (203cm x 218cm) which is large enough for the backing on your Alice’s Country Diary Quilt (as per the BOM’s Month 12 instructions, or on page 12 of the Full Quilt Kit).

Other supplies you will need to complete your quilt:
- A glue pen or stick to glue-baste to the paper pieces (available in our on-line shop’s Haberdashery section) – this is optional as you may choose to thread-baste.
- Thread and medium/fine hand-sewing needles (available in our on-line shop’s Haberdashery section). We will also sell a special Aurifil thread pack which will be specially chosen to complement the colours of this quilt – this will be available soon.
- Wadding and backing fabric sized approximately 78″ by 78″ (198 by 198 cm);
- Binding fabric to make a binding strip approximately 288″ (731cm) long;
We will have product listings for the correct size wadding, backing and binding for this quilt from late autumn 2023, when you may be starting to think about completing the quilt.
