Our Block of the Month (BOM) club makes sewing easy, simple and fun – each month we’ll send you a box with the fabric and instructions to make your beautiful blocks which build to make your heirloom quilt towards the end of the year.

With easy to follow instructions and access to helpful video tutorials to guide you, at the end of 12 months you will have made a beautiful double (queen) sized Liberty quilt.

About the Quilt

Made up of EPP (English Paper Pieced) hexagons that tesselate together to form a large finished quilt, this is a lovely hand-sewn heirloom quilt.

Includes seasonal Liberty prints and timeless Classics in exciting new colours.
In the whole quilt you will receive approximately 165 different prints. As the months progress we will add in the loveliest fabrics from Liberty's 2025 classic and seasonal collections as well as Alice's Exclusively designed prints.

Sew this gorgeous quilt at your own pace. It’s easy to pick up and put down – allowing you to sew when time allows. you can fit this into a busy life by making blocks at a time to suit you.

Varied Quilt Blocks

There are 27 full blocks and 6 half blocks in total within this quilt – each one a beautiful hexagon or half hexagon. Learn new skills, or develop existing ones with the mindful process of English Paper Piecing – surprisingly easy to learn!

your first box in January

You will be sent your first boxes full of quilty joy in January for the monthly and annual subscribers. if you choose the quarterly option, your first 3 boxes will be sent in March.

Hello, I'm Alice

I’ve always loved playing with fabrics, finding particular joy in combining colours. Finding a snippet of Liberty amongst my grandmother’s quilting stash of worn-out dresses and vintage fabrics was always a highlight and, from there, my passion for Liberty fabrics grew.

I’ve been running my business for over 10 years and love spending time designing sewing patterns and kits. Many of my kits are stocked in the iconic Liberty of London store which is always so exciting when I visit. One of my favourite times of the year is Quilt BOM design – I simply adore getting lost in both design and Liberty fabric choosing. I love the fact that these Quilt BOM boxes will be sent out across the globe – sharing that quilty Liberty love worldwide. – Alice xoxo

You've got questions? We have answers!

What is included in my QBOM subscription?

You will receive all of the fabrics (Liberty Tana Lawn®), full pre-cut paper templates plus full instructions and diagrams to make several blocks per month. Best of all, these will be enclosed in a beautiful quilt BOM box that you can use to store your work. Over the subscription period, these blocks will build to create a fabulous Liberty fabric heirloom quilt.

What else will I need?

Hand-sewing needles, medium/fine size, gold-tipped are best
A glue pen or stick to glue-baste to the paper pieces (alternatively you can thread baste the paper pieces to the fabric), such as the Sewline Glue Pen, here
Thread – either our super high quality Aurifil thread collection or Guterman 100% polyester Sew-All thread.
Iron and ironing board
For quilting and binding the finished patchwork quilt top, a sewing machine is needed. It doesn’t matter how basic your machine is – as long as it can do a straight stitch this will be fine.
Cutting Mat (optional)
Quilt clips (optional)
Wadding sized approximately 75” x 78” (190cm x 198cm)
Backing Fabric – finished 75” x 78” (190cm x 198cm)
Binding Fabric Tana: 11” x 54” (28cm x 137cm), Quilting Cotton: 15” x 44” (38cm x 112cm)
We have a ‘Haberdashery Bundle’ with several lovely accessories that will help you make this quilt more easily.

Will I have any fabric left over?

The fabric amount included within your boxes each month is plenty to make your blocks, with a small amount left over. This will vary from month to month – make sure you keep any scraps to use for tiny scrappy projects.

Are your sewing subscriptions suitable for beginners?

Flower Garden is suitable at both a beginner and intermediate sewing level, although even if you are a super experienced sewer you will still love taking part in this subscription.

What size is the finished quilt?

Finished quilt size is 78” x 78” (198cm x 198cm). This is a double bed (queen) sized quilt.

What about backing and binding?

Towards the end of the year we will make backing and binding available in a choice of fabric print options, cut to the size that you will need.

If I join, when will my box arrive and when will my payment be taken?

For all subscriptions, boxes will be dispatched 3-5 working days following your payment.

Monthly:
Payment for your first box will be taken on 3rd January and then on the 3rd of every month. If you join after 3rd January, payment for catch-up boxes will be taken on the day you join, then you will pay the regular monthly amount every 3rd of the month.

Payment by quarterly subscription:

Payment for your fist boxes will be taken on 3rd March and then on 3rd June, 3rd September and 3rd December 2025. If you join after 3rd March, payment for catch-up boxes will be taken on the day you join, then you will pay the regular quarterly amount each 3rd June, September and December.

Payment by Annual Subscription:

You will pay the full year’s subscription in full up-front, on the day when you sign up. Boxes will be dispatched 3-5 working days after the 3rd of every month. If you join after 3rd January your catch-up boxes will be dispatched within 3-5 days of the day you join, and thereafter within 3-5 working days of the 3rd of each month.

Can I cancel part way through the year?

Should your circumstances change part way through the subscription meaning you wish to cancel, you are free to do so at any time by emailing [email protected]. (We would, of course, be sad to see you go).
