Considered to be Liberty’s most iconic Art Nouveau design, Ianthe was originally created as a wallpaper border by French artist R. Beauclair in c.1902. It was reworked for Liberty by the Haward Studio in 1967 and has appeared in a multitude of different designs and styles ever since.
The Liberty Legends capsule collection is made up of five archival designs from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Featured in The Archive Book and worn by iconic musicians of the day, including Jimi Hendrix and Ginger Baker, the flamboyant prints have been revived by our in-house design team in bright, bold hues that pay homage to their origin. A celebration of our legendary print archive, this Liberty Fabrics’ collection is exclusively printed on organic Tana Lawn™ cotton.
