Liberty Quilting Collection AG2 Ginko Spot A

£18.75 Mtr

Popping up like fluttering fans, the playfully distinct Ginkgo leaves lend an air of refinement and sophistication to this minimalist pattern. Hand-painted in the Liberty Design Studio these timeless motifs create an aesthetic that is both classic and contemporary, while the tiny background spots provide an extra layer of colour and detail.

Inspired by our founder, Arthur Lasenby Liberty’s very own Japanese garden, we invite you to step inside this beautiful botanical retreat, filled with plants brought home from travels afar. In the 1890s, Arthur Lasenby Liberty and his wife Emma bought the Lee Manor in the historic British county of Buckinghamshire and decorated it with a carefully curated collection of objects D’Art from around the world. Following a trip to Japan in 1889, the couple fell in love with the country’s unparalleled artisanship, creative heritage, and natural beauty – so much so, that the young Arthur Liberty was inspired to recreate a Japanese garden
of his very own, complete with a lily pond, bamboo trees, and even Japanese zen rocks.

Liberty Fabrics’ designers have drawn inspiration from Arthur’s garden and the bloom laden trellises, tumbling blossoms, and ancient Ginkgo trees that made his garden so special. Unwind amongst charming Chrysanthemums, marvel at Dahlias in full bloom, and see cascading waterfalls passing by blossoming Cherry trees. Arthur’s Garden is a tranquil retreat for everyone to enjoy. Meticulously hand-painted in the Liberty design studio, in the heart of London, and expertly printed in the Liberty Fabrics mill in Italy, the collection is traditionally screen printed onto Lasenby cotton,
a base specifically developed for quilting and crafting projects.

The fabrics are all Lasenby 100% cotton which is of a quality specifically woven for quilters.
