THE RIPPLE DRESS
Make a dress you’ll wear all year round.
Also… when people ask, you can say ‘I made it!’
Make a dress you’ll wear all year round.
Also… when people ask, you can say ‘I made it!’
There is something almost magical about wearing a dress you made yourself. And when that dress is made in Liberty fabric or our favourite gingham colourways? Even better.
The Ripple Dress is a beautifully designed dress for all seasons. We will guide you through making it from start to finish – whether you have never attempted dressmaking before or you’ve been sewing for years.
Meet the Ripple dress is the new favourite dress you never knew you needed.
Create your dress to suit the season and your style. Sew a long, flowing version in a beautiful lightweight cotton for sunny days and garden gatherings, or make a shorter version to wear with boots and layers through the cooler months.
Whether you’re relatively new to dressmaking or already love sewing your own wardrobe, you’ll find the pattern clear, straightforward and enjoyable to follow. We’ve already done the pattern testing for you across a range of sewing machines and skill levels and every tester finished with a dress they couldn’t wait to wear.
Sometimes sewing calls for a project that’s simply enjoyable.
The Ripple Dress is a joy to make – the kind of sewing that flows, that you can pick up and put down across a long weekend, that reminds you why you fell in love with making things in the first place.
No hunting for fabrics that work together. No agonising over print choices. We’ve done that part so you can focus on what you love – the sewing itself.
Pick it up on a Friday. Wear it by Sunday.
Tutorials & guidance Follow along as we make the dress together, with step-by-step video lessons. Alice and Tracy will showcase their top tips for sewing and dressmaking.

With brilliant video tutorials, Tracy will guide you through the joyful making of this gorgeous dress. We will have loads of fun along the way and give you the support you need to complete this dress.
A passionate sewer with a love for vibrant colours. From clothing to quilts, Tracy inspires others in the sewing community through her colourful creations and sewing tips.
“From a young child I was taught to sew, mainly clothes for my Cindy dolls! I disliked school and found out I was dyslexic in my early teens, but I carried on sewing – making clothes, blinds and all sorts of different things. I went to college to study Fashion and Textiles, then on to Leeds to study Tailoring. I have worked in London as a pattern cutter/grader for Warehouse, River Island and Oasis. I’ve taught at local sewing shops and Festival of Quilts and I love passing on my sewing knowledge to others. Colour is my “thing” and I still make my own clothes and sew every day.”
The Liberty Ripple Dress
One of the world’s most loved fabrics, chosen and curated for the Ripple design. Wearing a dress made in Liberty fabric is one of those simple joys that never gets old. Elegant, distinctive and completely unique to you.
The Gingham Ripple Dress
Fresh, joyful and timeless – gingham is actually one of the loveliest fabrics to learn dressmaking with. Its clean lines and forgiving nature make it perfect for first time dressmakers, and in our carefully chosen colourways it makes the most beautiful summer dress.
Both options include everything you need – 3.5m of fabric and 0.25m of interfacing ready to cut out and sew, and a clear pattern to guide you through every step. The pattern fits UK sizes 8-26, and the fabric provided is enough to make the dress in any size.

I’ve always loved playing with fabrics, finding particular joy in combining colours. Finding a snippet of Liberty amongst my grandmother’s quilting stash of worn-out dresses and vintage fabrics was always a highlight and, from there, my passion for Liberty fabrics grew.
I’m passionate about helping sewing enthusiasts like you bring their creative visions to life. I’ve spent years perfecting patterns and techniques that make sewing accessible and enjoyable for everyone – whether you’re just starting out or have been sewing for years.
I understand the struggles of learning on your own – I’ve been there. That’s why I’ve designed this dress-making tutorial to provide not just a lovely sewing project, but also the support, guidance, and inspiration you need to succeed. I’m here to show you that sewing can be easy, fun, and incredibly rewarding when you have the right tools and a community by your side.
