Liberty Shoulder Bag by Mandy Shaw: Fabric & Equipment Requirements

This is not a pattern. This is a list of requirements designed to go with a pattern which will be released as part of our Sew-Along Festival. ย 

Fabric requirements:
โ€ข 18 x 42 ins Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ fabric for the main bag. (Mandy has used Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ Persephone A for her sample but there are plenty of lovely Liberty Fabrics to choose from to really make the bag your own)

9 x 42 ins fine green needlecord for bag base.
โ€ข 4 x 42 ins blue plain Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ fabric for the trims. (Mandy has used Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ Airforce J for her sample but there are plenty of lovely plain coloured Liberty Fabrics to choose from to suit your particular bag. A printed Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ fabric would even work if you wanted to use a print)
โ€ข 12 x 12ins pink plain Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ fabric for the pocket lining. (Mandy has used Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ Blossom B for her sample)
โ€ข 18 x 42ins Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ fabric for the lining. (Mandy has used Liberty Tana Lawnยฎ Edenham Shadow A for her sample but there are plenty of lovely Liberty Fabrics to choose from to really make the bag your own)
โ€ข 10 x 10 ins beige fabric for the embroidery.
โ€ข 40 x 22 ins thin cotton wadding.
โ€ข 10 x 10 ins iron on light weight interfacing. (optional)

Equipment:
โ€ข One coton ร  broder 815 embroidery thread.
โ€ข 1 mt wide ric rac to match.
โ€ข 1 mt 40 mms wide red handle tape.
โ€ข Red, beige and blue sewing thread
โ€ข Chenille 24 needles for the redwork
โ€ข Sewing machine
โ€ข Iron and a hard, flat ironing board (a wooden chopping board works really well!)
โ€ข Rotary Cutter, ruler and board
โ€ข Erasable fabric pen (We recommendย Pilot Frixion Heat Erasable Pen)
โ€ข General sewing supplies

Project made using:

โ€ข Sewing machine
