With gowns adorned with rich fabrics, elaborate embroideries, and exquisite jewels, fashion in the Elizabethan period symbolised wealth and power. Floral Majesty features pansies, poppies, buttercups, irises, and bluebells, drawing inspiration from the layout and extravagant motifs embroidered into one of Elizabeth I’s dresses. The design was hand-painted using pastels on textured paper, adding depth and richness to its vibrant floral imagery.

Celebrating the eclectic, the extravagant, and the extroverted, this chapter is inspired by those who are free to express themselves. Following the limelight on centuries of artistic and cultural icons, from Cleopatra and Beaux Brummell to Josephine Baker and John Lennon, Liberty praises these societal personalities for their unconventional exuberance and playful eccentricity towards style.
