Mini Clasp Purse with Anna Sanders: Fabric & Equipment Requirements

This is not a pattern. This is a list of requirements designed to go with a pattern which will be released as part of our Sew-Along Festival.  

Fabric requirements:
• Main EPP fabrics: selection of various fabric scraps. Could use 72 different fabrics min. size 1½” (3.8cm) square and cut 1 hexagon from each, or 24 different fabrics min. size 3” (7.6”) square and cut 3 hexagons from each, or 12 different fabrics min. size 5” x 3” (12.7cm x 7.6cm) and cut 6 hexagons from each. (Our SALE Liberty Tana Lawn Multi-Coloured Ribbons 100g or Liberty Tana Lawn® Multi-Coloured All-Sorts 100g would be perfect and give more than enough fabric in a variety of colours)
• Lining fabric: 8” x 4”(20.4cm x 10.2cm) (We recommend Liberty Tana Lawn®. If you want to use a specific fabric, a FQ would be more than enough)
• Thin wadding: 10” x 4¾” (25.4cm x 12cm)

Equipment:
• Kiss clasp: one 5cm/50mm round sew-in metal kiss clasp. We have used this exact 5cm/50mm Round Sew-In Metal Kiss Clasp. This pattern has been designed to suit this particular clasp. Please note: Other brands of clasps will only work if they are the exact same shape and size, which isn’t always guaranteed but certainly worth a try if you already have a 5cm round clasp at home you could use. The pattern explains how to test if a different clasp would be suitable or not.
• ³⁄8” (0.4cm) EPP hexagon papers: minimum 72 individual hexagons (Find a pre-cut pack of 125 Hexagons in the right size here)
• Scissors or rotary cutter & cutting mat
• Pins
• Thread for sewing machine & EPP (We recommend Aurifil or Gütermann threads)
• Strong thicker nylon thread for stitching clasp
• Sewing machine
• Hand sewing needle
• Iron & ironing board
• Pilot Frixion Heat Erasable Pen
• Sewline Fabric Glue Pen (optional if you will glue baste your EPP. We also recommend the handy Glue Pen Refill Pack)
• Basting spray (optional)

Project made using:
• English paper piecing by hand
• Hand stitching
