Over the Rainbow Quilt Kit – English Paper Piecing
The Over the Rainbow EPP Quilt is based on the Dresden Plate quilt block. The history of this block goes back as far as the 1800’s when examples of the ‘Dresden Plate Fan’ can been seen in quilts. It didn’t become really popular however until the 1920’s when four fans were pieced together to make the circle Dresden Plate quilt block we know and love today. This beautiful full quilt kit uses 144 different Liberty Tana Lawn prints to make the petals of the Dresden Plates all in gorgeous rainbows. The technique used to make this quilt is English Paper Piecing (EPP) which hand sews the Dresden Plate petals together. These are then hand or machine appliqued onto the background fabric. We love EPP at Alice Caroline – there is so much enjoyment to be found in hand sewing beautiful fabrics together.

You will need: Scissors, pins, sewing machine, hand sewing needle and thread, water soluble glue-pen (optional), quilt backing and wadding.
