PATTERN: Hera Manor Quilt Pattern

Worthy of being draped over four-poster beds and velvet sofas in beautiful English country estates, this Hera Manor Quilt is opulence itself with the bearing of a modern heirloom.
The design radiates from the centre in the form of a traditional medallion quilt, but the illusion of squares within squares is carried across the whole quilt, creating an almost hypnotic effect to draw many an admiring eye.

Best suited to an advanced quilter, the quilt’s construction involves a mixture of careful machine patchwork and EPP by hand. Common patchwork units such as flying geese and half square triangles (HSTs) feature across the quilt, whilst some sections are on the bias and will require starching and more gentle handling. Stick to the old adage of ‘measure twice, cut once’ and you will be good to go with this quilt. Happy sewing!

This quilt is very well suited for a mixture of Liberty Tana Lawn® and Liberty Quilting Cotton fabrics to be used. If not Liberty, any other 44″ (112cm) or 54″ (137cm) wide lightweight cotton fabric is fine.
Our sample uses heritage colours for a timeless look: warm mustard, deep berry, smoky grey and muted sage. You may follow this example or have fun creating your very own colour scheme, it is amazing how different a quilt can look through colour use alone.

Iron, pins, thread, sewing machine, grid ruler, set square, spray starch, at least thirteen 120gsm A4 paper sheets, erasable fabric pen or pencil, cutting mat and rotary cutter
