This Katherine Bag is a great way to wear your favourite Liberty prints! Suitable for an adventurous beginner sewer, these instructions will walk you through simple square patchworking, constructing a pocket, covering webbing and lining, all of which will help advance your sewing skills.

Have fun with the colours of the exterior fabrics and the lining fabric. They could be similar colours to create a harmonious design like the purple bag shown, or you could choose contrasting colours to make a bolder statement piece.

This bag is very well suited for Liberty Tana Lawn or Liberty Quilting Cotton to be used as the exterior and lining fabrics. If not Liberty, any lightweight cotton or quilting cotton will also suit.

You will need: Pins, thread, sewing machine, erasable fabric marker pen, scissors or rotary cutter, grid ruler and mat. Optional: water soluble fabric adhesive
