Considered to be Liberty’s most iconic Art Nouveau design, Ianthe was originally created as a wallpaper layout by French artist R. Beauclair in c.1902. It was reworked for Liberty by the Haward Studio in 1967, and has appeared in a multitude of different designs and styles ever since.
Liberty Fabrics’ Classics collection started in 1979, created to champion the most well-known and iconic designs from the Liberty archive all year around. The collection offers reworked and recoloured interpretations of the most quintessential Liberty heritage designs – including Art Nouveau motifs, paisley prints, landscapes and ditsy florals.

Medium/lightweight interlining for strengthening small areas of clothing, such as button backing strips, collars and cuffs and also for craftwork using fabrics. Suitable for use with lightweight fabrics such as cotton.
Iron-on with moderate to hot iron, pressing firmly for 5-10 seconds. Using a damp cloth between the fabric and the iron will allow use of a higher temperature without damaging more delicate fabrics. Machine washable at 40º Centigrade. Dry cleanable.

Liberty Dresden Flower Clock Kit – English Paper Piecing (EPP)
Keep one eye on the time and another on a rainbow of pretty Liberty Fabrics with this Dresden Flower Clock kit. Sew the 12 petals together in neat rainbow order from reds to purples, or choose a more random arrangement of colour such as the one pictured- the choice is yours! Construction of this clock uses the English Paper Pieced (EPP) method and a traditional shape known as the Dresden Plate. Often formed of 16 ‘petals’, this version with just 12 petals is perfect for a clock. If new to the technique you will find that EPP is actually quite a simple (and addictive!) way to hand sew.
This is a project well suited for a beginner sewer and is constructed entirely by hand with a needle and thread.

Off-white background fabric
Pre-cut English Paper Piecing templates
Clock mechanism & hands (black and white included)
Fully illustrated printed instructions
You will need: Scissors, pins, erasable fabric marker (test on a small piece of the background fabric first before using on the main project), AA battery, iron, hand sewing needle and thread. Optional: water-soluble fabric glue pen, sellotape, starch
Please note: This kit will contain both black and white hour and minute clock hands. However, the hands may be easily painted a different colour if desired, simply source a paint or spray paint in the colour of your choice and re-colour the hands before assembling the clock.
Not suitable for children due to small parts.
