Here’s a liberty quilt sos progress update for 2018! Since launching the project in January, our community quilting update is looking fantastic — over 40 charity progress quilts have been pledged by our wonderful customers, with 66 needed in total for the children in Krasnik, Poland. Some quilters have shared their sewing sos liberty works in progress and they look absolutely gorgeous.
I’ve been sent some rather lovely pictures from the ‘Lewes Sewing Bees’. They have been busy making this gorgeous quilt. We’ve all been swooning over these pictures in the studio.

I love the windmill in this quilt. You can see the detail below. They are cleverly using Liberty scraps to give pops of colour to the quilt. I can imagine The ‘Lewes Sewing Bees’ meeting to discuss which fabrics would look best for each intricate piece of detail. Each one seems to be a perfect fit.

I especially love the gardens in the front of the houses. Wildflower meadows and more formal gardens can be seen at the bottom of this quilt design. There are beautiful trees of all seasons scattered in between.

We’ve also had pictures of this rather lovely blue quilt which is being made by Angela Seabrook. The blues in this quilt will make it perfect as a gift for a boy later on this year. The white border around the blue Liberty really shows the Liberty fabric to its best.

Below is a picture of Siobhan Marshall’s quilt in progress. I love the bright backgrounds with Liberty animals appliquéd on. I can’t wait to see this one finished too.

We do still need some more quilts so if you would like to support the project then you can take a look here. A selection of these quilts will be displayed at The Festival of Quilts this year. This is quite exciting and we are so grateful to the Festival of Quilts for supporting us. They have also offered us a discounted ticket price for the festival. Please enter the unique code SOS18 at the checkout to receive £2.50 off the adult ticket and £1.00 off the concession ticket prices. You can buy your Festival of Quilts tickets here.
Thank you to the wonderful quilters who have been sewing away. I can’t wait to see the quilts when they start to arrive in the studio.
