Moth Keeper’s Journal Quilt Kit

£225.00

The Mothkeeper’s Journal was inspired by a collection of vintage illustrations of mushrooms and moths. As a child, I remember visiting a family friend whose study was filled with framed specimens of flora and fauna and weighty tomes with beautifully detailed illustrations. I still find the many varieties of moth with their array of colours and clever markings absolutely fascinating, so teamed with botanical drawings and some classic Liberty® prints, ‘The Mothkeeper’s Journal’ was born!

Suitable for an adventurous beginner sewer, construction of this quilt uses a combination of simple patchwork and raw edge appliqué. You will learn how to make half square triangles which are simple to sew, but create a visually complex design once they are put together. The pictorial scenes use the raw edge appliqué technique which, once learnt, will open up a whole new world of sewing possibilities! Raw edge appliqué is a bit like collaging with fabric and whilst easy to do, it does require some concentration and a slower speed setting on your machine, if possible.

THIS KIT INCLUDES
14 Liberty® prints in a mixture of Tana Lawn® and quilting cottons for the patchwork, appliqué and
binding.
Quality ivory quilting cotton for the background.
