Gill Nicholls from the Lewes Sewing Bees has made this completely gorgeous Capel Mint Liberty Shirt using one of my latest Exclusive Liberty prints. Gill talks about her beautiful make:
“I chose the Capel as I thought it would make a stunning shirt, I loved the green and I wasn’t disappointed.”
“I used Simplicity 1538 and made a couple of changes. I wanted the shirt to be quite classic so I pleated the back rather than gathering and I reduced the width of the lower half of the sleeves to take out the fullness.
It was very straightforward to make and needed very little fitting. I can’t wait to wear it!”
It’s so lovely to see my exclusives made up into garments and quilts. I always love the clothes that Gill makes and this shirt is gorgeous. It’s so well made with super sharp points on the collar. It’s so tempting to keep hold of it and not return to Gill…… I’ll have to get the machine out over the bank holiday weekend.
