Day 7 brings another brilliant scrap-busting make! These decoupage decorations are super easy, great fun and perfect for getting children involved too. No sewing required – just fabric scraps, a little PVA glue or Mod Podge and some baubles or festive shapes to decorate.
In previous years we’ve used clear baubles from craft stores, but this time we switched things up and chose these beautiful star hanging ornaments for something a bit different.
You will need:
Fabric Scraps (We recommend Liberty fabrics!)
Paper Mache Decoration in any shape (we used a star)
PVA Glue or Mod Podge
Small Paintbrush
Scissors
- Make sure your paper mache decoration is clean and dry
- Select a range of fabrics to decorate and cut them into small manageable pieces
- Using your paintbrush, apply a thin layer of either PVA Glue or Mod Podge onto the surface of the decoration
- Apply the small pieces of fabric onto the glued area, making sure to not leave any gaps between your pieces
- Once the fabric is secure, place a thin layer of glue over the top, using your paintbrush, to secure each piece
- Continue this around the entire paper mache decoration until the entire surface is covered
- Let dry completely and hang on any tree, window or as part of a garland!
