Liberty Tana Lawn® Floral Fantasy Quilt Kit – Kit 2

Sew your own spring baskets, full to bursting with fantastical florals – no green thumbs necessary! Bright and happy, this Floral Fantasy Quilt will light up the room and draw many an admiring eye.

The quilt is constructed using basic patchwork techniques including strip piecing and half square triangles (HSTs). Easily mastered, these foundational patchwork techniques will serve you well for any future quilt project you turn your hand to. Raw edge appliqué is a bit like collaging with fabric and whilst easy to do, it does require some concentration and a slower speed setting on your machine,
if possible. You can make the stitching as intricate, or as simple as you like, defining petals for extra texture and visual drama if desired.

ABOUT THIS QUILT KIT SERIES

This kit is part of a series of 5 which will build up to the full Floral Fantasy Quilt. To make the full quilt you will need all 5 kits in this series: Kit 1, Kit 2, Kit 3, Kit 4 (kits 1-4 include four blocks only) and
the Finishing kit (which includes the necessary joining, sashing and binding fabrics).There will be two differently coloured finishing kits with either green or pink sashing and binding, so you can choose whichever appeals the most.

THIS KIT INCLUDES

Liberty Tana Lawn® and quilting cotton fabrics in various sizes and prints needed for the patchwork and raw edge appliqué on all four blocks.
Quality quilting cotton fabric for the block backgrounds.

FOR THIS KIT YOU WILL NEED

Sewing machine, thread to match fabric, pins, iron and ironing board, scissors or rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat, erasable fabric pen or pencil, ordinary craft glue stick (such as a Pritt Stick). Optional: free motion quilter’s foot

Double-sided fabric adhesive (bondaweb): 11 3⁄4” x 31 1⁄2” (29.8cm x 80cm)

Not currently but eventually, for the final Finishing kit you will need Wadding: minimum size 75” x 75” (190cm x 190cm)
Backing fabric: 75” x 75” (190cm x 190cm)
