Half Term Haberdashery – Lovely Liberty Project

imageOne of my Liberty projects is featured on the Liberty of London website today in time for the Half Term holidays.  It’s a customised girl’s jumper – the perfect rainy day project to make this half term and wear all winter.

I thought this would be a fun and quick project to make and it’s always good to see the delight on someone’s face when a homemade gift is received.  It would also be fun to make alongside a daughter or grandchild as it’s a fairly simple project.  It’s a great up cycling project so you can take any jumper from the wardrobe and give it a fresh look – one any little girl would love.  I thought I would share it with you too!image

You will need the following for this lovely project. Fabric scraps – buy Liberty scrap packs

You will also need five pieces of interfacing, an assortment of haberdashery items such as buttons and ribbons, a sewing machine, an iron, needle, thread and a jumper to upcycle.

The rabbit design I’ve made has four layers but you can use as many or as few as you like depending on the look you want.  You can download and print my rabbit template here. (This template is for a girls jumper aged 6 – 8).  Please also note that the largest circle on the template is there for you to use as a guide to cut out your interfacing during step 4.
