Ruth has been busy stitching up this beautiful carry case and we’re so excited to share it with you! Read on for her process.
“I saw the pattern for the Blossom Carry Case by Emma Jones in the Alice Caroline Sew-Along Festival and decided to upgrade the old ice cream tub I used to keep my EPP work in progress in! I liked the open style of the case allowing you to easily see inside and grab the bits you need.”
“I liked the style of the case but thought I’d make a plainer version using dark blue denim with Liberty highlights. I used some Betsy Meadow B bias binding and some scraps of Capel B organic and Betsy Meadow B that I already had for the EPP flower on the top.”

“I used Liberty Quilt Cotton Floral Glade B for the pocket under the lid and the packets in the side walls.”
“I altered the design slightly by making the sides a bit taller to accommodate some pockets on the inside, the rest of the case was made exactly as per the pattern, including using the materials as specified in the “you will need” list.”
“I’m really pleased with the look and usability of the case. The double slider zip means that the lid opens right up so you can easily get to the things inside. This was my first attempt at making a bag like this but the instructions and accompanying video were easy to follow. I would say that the stiff denim wasn’t particularly easy to work with and as I hadn’t pre-washed it 🙃 I did get some dye transfer and had to keep washing my hands!”
