Meet my version of the Heartbeat Cushion and yes, every single patch in that heart came from my scrap bin.
The pattern is clever because it works with whatever you have. No matching required, no careful curation, just pull out the fabrics that make you happy and start stitching. I used ginghams, a tiny floral, some stripes, and lots of pink (obviously), and the diagonal heart design pulls it all together beautifully.
