When Sew Magazine contacted me to say they needed some fabric to make beautiful Easy Sew Liberty Tops – of course I said yes. ย You can never have too much Liberty and I love to see what other people are going to make from some of the many fabrics I have in the studio here.
Sew Magazine are giving away this free pattern in their June edition so pick up a copy to make yourself a lovely Liberty top in, what they claim, an hour. ย It’s dressmaking for beginners or if you are an experienced one looking for a quick project. ย The pattern has five design variations including a range of necklines to choose from.
This top looks so pretty in the Reflections fabric – super contemporary and fresh.
The Fabrics:
Reflections A – this is a really magical abstract print from the new Spring Summer 2016b collection – The Artist. ย It has a dense layering of textured speckles and marbled polka dots. ย You can buy it here.
Mist Hot Pink – this is SUCH a gorgeous print – the fabulous Mitsi in the hot in colour way looks completely amazing on this top. ย You can buy it here.
I love it when magazines use Liberty fabric to design new projects and clothes – sometimes it is hard to visualise what a fabric will look like when made up into a garment so it’s great to see them being used in lots of different ways.
Happy sewing everyone.
