The lovely Pauline from the studio has made these Gorgeous Liberty Pyjamas for her daughter Lily. The fabric is called Blackburn and is from the New Collectables AW21 collection.
I asked Pauline about the project. “I’m always on the lookout for a fabric with a meaningful name to make presents for birthdays and other celebrations. It just so happened that this fabric ‘Blackburn C‘ has my own name! We have two colour ways. I choose this one because I like pink. I also showed it my daughter Lily and she likes it too.”
“I made my own pattern for the pyjama bottoms from some old PJ’s I’d made previously. It’s a really easy design to make and I bought a plain white T-shirt and appliquéd an L onto it. For the letter L, I ironed it onto some interfacing and then turned the hem under and hand stitched it onto the T-shirt.”
“Lily really likes them and they are really comfy to wear. Liberty Tana Lawn® is lovely to wear at nighttime next to the skin. It’s also really lovely to sew with either by hand or machine stitching.”
