Lucy from the studio has made this adorable Liberty Baby Dress as a present her niece. This is made using one of the gorgeous Liberty prints from the SS22 collection. Here’s what Lucy had to say about this make. “One of the (many!) things I love about Liberty fabrics is the abundance of tiny, intricate details in some of their Tana Lawn® designs. This, along with their lovely softness, makes them just perfect for children’s clothes, however, with my own children now all grown up, I usually just settle for a nostalgic rummage through these beautiful prints…until now! My cousin has recently had a baby, so when the new Spring Summer designs arrived at the studio I knew exactly what I wanted to make. Yes, finally…I had a good excuse to make a teeny, tiny, frilly dress for a little girl again!”
“I chose to use Sleeping Beauty C from the new Wonderful Fantastical collection (I mean the name alone was a good enough reason to choose this one!). I absolutely love the bright, cheerful colours in this fabric and the way they pick out all the minute flowers in the design. I then chose to use Ed D to make the accent frills as this shade of yellow matched exactly with the yellow hints in the main fabric, and it is also a very small print which I think works well in terms of scale.”
I love this sweet Liberty dress so much. The Sleeping Beauty print is perfect for a dress for a little one.
