Kathy has made these lovely Liberty Christmas Decorations. They are a really great, simple make that could be made as part of a Christmas crafting session – perhaps a lovely mum and daughter project.
Kathy talks about her Christmas crafting here:
“I made these decoration as a little aside to the rest of my my Christmas makes. I saw them on Pinterest and thought they were a little shabby chic. It’s a great project which can be made out of scraps.”
“Firstly, I embroidered the words onto some hessian fabric I already had in my stash and sewed this onto one side of the fabric shape. Then I simply sewed the front and back fabric of the shape together (wrong sides together leaving a raw edge) leaving a little hole along one edge of of the fabrics. Stuff with any stuffing you have available and then sew up the hole, attach your twine and beads for hanging.”
“It’s a really simple and quick decoration to make for the tree or to hang as a group. I like the ‘hope’ star the best but think they look good in a bundle hanging together.”
This project is a great use of fabric scraps. Each shape uses only a very small amount of fabric and can be decorated with any beads that are lying around. Thank you Kathy for sharing your festive project.
