This lovely Liberty Christmas Wreath is a super easy sewing project. It’s the prefect embellishment to your front door during the festive period. Maddie who came for work experience a few weeks ago made this lovely wreath. Thank you Maddie! The tutorial is below.
You will need:
Foam wreath – available from lots of craft stores.
Ribbons of Liberty fabric approximately 1.5″ wide in Christmas colours. You can find a selection of ribbon strips here.
A sewing machine and matching thread.
A selection of ribbons, buttons and other haberdashery for embellishment.
Pins
Step 1: Sew your strips of Liberty fabric together at the short end. Top Tip – make sure the fabric join is always on the same side.
Step 2: Fix one end of the long strip of Liberty ribbons to the reverse of the wreath. Wrap the ribbon around the foam wreath at a diagonal angle. Keep going until you have covered the whole wreath. Pin the other end of the ribbon to the reverse of the wreath.
Step 3: Attach your chosen ribbon for hanging and chosen embellishments to the wreath. Hang the wreath on your door.
