12 Days of Handmade Christmas – Day 12: Furoshiki Wrapping
What is Furoshiki?
Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping technique that uses fabric instead of paper. With just a simple square of fabric and a few clever knots, you can transform a gift into something truly special and completely reusable. And when you use Liberty fabric… it becomes a gift in its own right!
You will need:
A square of fabric (Liberty Tana Lawn works beautifully)
Your gift
1. Lay your fabric flat, pattern side down.
2. Place your gift in the centre.
3. Bring 2 opposite corners together over the top of the gift – folding over if there is any extra fabric.
4. On the other 2 sides of the gift, create two ears and bring them up to the top of the gift and tie a secure knot.
That’s a wrap (pun intended) on our 12 Days of Handmade Christmas posts. We’ve had so much fun making & sharing these with you and we hope that it’s inspired you to get crafty this Christmas. Have a lovely festive period, however you’re celebrating 🎄
