I get so excited when a new Liberty fabric collection is launched and the bright colours in this one are truly beautiful.
Inspired by historical fashion books from the Liberty archive, the new collection draws colours and patterns from a wide variety of garments and designs from the 15th until the 20th century and from across the world. ‘Every picture tells a story’ and Renaissance art with its detailed fashion painting and historical references does just that. A period of art that has fascinated Emma Mawston (the chief designer of the collection) for a long time and led to the creation of a collection based on interesting periods in fashion history.
