Louise has made this gorgeous Liberty Advent Calendar using scraps of Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics in lovely Christmas colours. It’s made using a simple set of drawers bought from Hobbycraft. An easy Liberty make.
Louise tells us about her project. “When I saw this set of drawers advertised by Hobbycraft, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to try out covering them in Liberty fabric. This is something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while after admiring some gorgeous larger items people on social media have covered such as suitcases and furniture, but in a way more manageable and affordable size!”
“This set of drawers was ideal because I could utilise Alice Caroline 5″ Charm Squares in Liberty Christmas fabrics that I also use for card making, but you could use fat quarters of your favourite fabrics if you didn’t want as much variety as I’ve used. I did a bit of research to find out how to go about using Tana lawn as a covering, and with the help of some school glue, enamel craft paint for the drawer knobs and the visible surfaces, some clear matt varnish over the fabric for protection and the numbers from a card making supplier, I’m super pleased with the result. It’s perfect for filling with little treats for advent and something to treasure for years to come.”
