Kathy from the studio has made this adorable Liberty Baby Romper Suit. She has used Liberty Tana Lawn in Theo.
The fabric choice for this romper suit is perfect. Theo is a hand-drawn print created by Tamara de Peon and was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s beloved classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The design incorporates colourful creatures running, jumping and hopping around the fabric.
I asked Kathy about her Liberty Baby Romper Suit.
What was your inspiration for making it? “The new addition to the Knight family. We already knew it was going to be a little boy and I just love the Theo fabric. It’s a perfect choice for this project.”
What pattern did you use? “I got the pattern from Etsy – it’s the 5BERRIES, Honeycrisp Romper.”
Was it an easy make? “It was really easy to make. I did adapt the pattern slightly. I didn’t use poppers but used buttons instead as I couldn’t get what I needed in a short space of time because of the lockdown. I waded through many button tins and finally found these lovely wooden ones in an aunties button stash.”
Are you pleased with the result? “I love the result and can’t wait to make more children’s clothes. I am also going to make a matching sunhat.”
I hope this gives you some sewing inspiration xoxo
