Our lovely sewing friend, Tracy Aplin, has made this stunning dress using Beautifully Bizarre A from Liberty’s latest seasonal collection, The Curated Floral. Let’s hear from Tracy:
“As Autumn is on its way, I’ve been thinking about my wardrobe. This fabric has a navy background, which is dark for me, but the print is amazing when you look closer. It’s got so much going on and I love it. The darker navy is perfect for autumn.”
“I always wear dresses, so when Merchant and Mills came out with a few more new patterns, this one caught my eye. The pattern is called The Scout. I love a dress without too many panels, this way it shows the fabric off to its fullest! The collar and cuffs are a nice design detail and yes it has pockets too! I chose buttons that would pull out some of the colours in the print, which are also Merchant and Mills.”
“Looking ahead to cooler weather, I will be able to wear this in the winter with a long sleeved shirt, tights and boots – oh, and a cardi! I can’t wait to make another in denim and use Liberty Tana Lawn for the pockets, under collar and maybe to bind the hem.”
