It’s a Liberty Glenjade Day

It’s a Liberty Glenjade kind of a day today.  Claire and Hils in the studio have been busy sewing this week.  Take a look at what they have made! Claire has made a lovely jumpsuit from Glenjade I using The Poppy Playsuit pattern from Simply Sewing Magazine (Issue 16).

Claire lengthened the pattern to make a full length playsuit which needed a little extra fabric.  Glenjade is a really nice fabric pattern.  It’s not too overpowering and the small scale print is cute.  Claire loves blues and says that most of her clothes are blue.  She put elastic on the ankles and added a tie belt so that you can wear the jumpsuit as tight or loose as she wishes.  This gives a much more streamlined look to the outfit.

Hils has made a lovely summery Glenjade B top using New Look pattern 6395.  This top has a handy tie back which is used to adjust the fitting and is accessorised with a small button from a broken bracelet.  A great idea for recycling.

The top has a yoke and a round collar. The pattern allows for longer sleeves or a standing collar if you prefer.

I love the teal in this Liberty Glenjade fabric.  It’s so crisp and vibrant.  Hils says the top is lovely and cool to wear and is perfect for the summer.  It can be worn with jean, shorts or even a denim skirt.

I hope this inspires you to get sewing for the summer.
