Kathy from the studio has made these gorgeous Liberty Re-usable Face Cloths. I made some of these last year to give as gifts and they proved so popular that lots of others have been busy making for the festive period. Kathy made these for her sister in law. These are a great way to use up your Liberty scraps.
I asked Kathy about the project: “I bought the scraps to make something else entirely but wanted to make a birthday present for my sister in law Angela. Angela saw the ones you posted about last Christmas and liked them so, I thought I’d make some for her as a surprise.”
“I made the bag from scratch using some white Makower fabric. It’s a simple drawstring bag decorated with half-hexagon EPP (English Paper Piecing) and finished off with an embroidered A. For the embroidery, I used a good quality Aurifil thread.”
“The fabrics are all from the latest Alice Caroline Exclusive collection – the colours are so lovely together. For the backing of the face cloth, I used smooth cuddle soft fabric as it’s so kind to your face. Angela loved the present and is delighted to be re-using face cloths to help the environment.”
I love this gift idea. It’s such a thoughtful touch to add the embroidered lettering onto the bag. I wonder if I have time to make these for my entire family before Christmas…
Thank you for sharing your lovely project with us Kathy.
