Quilt for Ukraine — A Community Charity Patchwork Project for War Child UK
In 2022, as the war in Ukraine unfolded, we called on our community quilting network to help create a charity quilt in the colours of the Ukrainian flag. Over 80 quilters worldwide sent in patchwork charity quilt blocks, and the finished ukraine quilt project — 81 blocks making an 81-inch square — was auctioned through Doves for Peace, raising an incredible £800 for War Child UK.
Back in 2022, as the devastating war in Ukraine unfolded, we put a call out to our community to help us create a quilt in the colours of the Ukrainian flag – to show solidarity, craft something beautiful and to make a tangible difference. The response from our community was overwhelming. Over 80 quilters worldwide sent in blocks, and social media feeds were flooded with the colours of Ukraine.
We’re so thankful to Doves for Peace, an amazing organisation, for helping us take the Quilt for Ukraine to the next stage. The quilt was auctioned on 17th September 2025, with every penny raised going to War Child UK and it raised an amazing £800! Every penny will be going to War Child UK, directly supporting the children of Ukraine affected by this conflict.
