Mia’s Scalloped Liberty Dress — AW23 Sewing Bee Finalist Collection

If you watched the BBC’s Great British Sewing Bee, you’ll know Mia and her incredible dressmaking skills — she made it all the way to the final! We let Mia choose a Liberty dressmaking fabric from the AW23 collection, A Liberty Odyssey, and she created this gorgeous scalloped dress of dreams — a true sewing bee dress moment.

Mia says “Once I saw the print, I knew I wanted to recreate a blouse I made a little while back as a dress – this design is based off of a Kika Vargas blouse and has scallops for daaaays! About 5 metres of individually turned and pressed scallops, hand sewn lining and blind stitched hem 🥴🥴 so definitely a labour of love for these little cherubs 💘”
