Dawn from the studio has made these Super Cute Easter Bunnies. These are so sweet and would make gorgeous gifts for your loved ones.
Dawn tells me about her make: “I cannot take any credit at all for these cute little bunnies – the pattern came from my lovely friend Sue!
Sue had found inspiration from Pinterest and made these bunnies using scraps of quilting weight fabric from her stash – so I thought I’d have a go using Liberty Tana as there are so many gorgeous prints that lend an Easter feel. A particular favourite of mine is the organic Betsy in yellow, mauve, green and pink colour way – just perfect for an Easter make.”
“The bunnies couldn’t be easier to make – simply make a cardboard bunny head template (mine was courtesy of Sue – but you could easily draw your own) – cut out two shapes from the fabric, then right -sides -together sew all around leaving a gap at the top between the ears so you can turn it through. The turning was a bit fiddly but I used an orange stick to help poke the ears through . Then press lightly.”
“Fill your bunny with chocolate eggs (or whatever you fancy) then poke his ears through a large wooden bead and draw on a little bunny face using a thin nib Sharpie. The Tana Lawn® was fine enough to push through the hole in the bead, but for thicker material (like quilting weight) just drill out the hole to be a little bigger. For this bit Sue’s brilliant husband David came to the rescue and did all the drilling for us!”
“One the eggs are eaten you could stuff the bunny with cotton wool and use as an Easter ornament.
Happy Easter everyone!”
