This adorable Betsy Apricot Blossom dress and lovely Felicite Cherry Blossom nightdress were made by Susanna from the Lewes Sewing Bees. Here’s Susanna to tell you about her makes:
“As soon as I saw the Betsy Apricot Blossom I was inspired to make a child’s dress as I thought it was so perfect with the pinks and the lovely soft green in this exclusive colourway. I have made it for my great niece. I used a Butterick pattern 3350 which I have made before and it is a quick and easy pattern. I am not an experienced sewer so I have to choose easy patterns! I slightly adapted the sleeves as I wanted them to have a small puff and I finished it with a machine hemmed skirt but in all other respects I followed the pattern.”
“I made a nightdress for myself in the Felicite Cherry Blossom as firstly it is one of my top favourite Liberty designs and secondly I absolute love this new colour way! I used Butterick 5792 which I have also used before but this time I decided to make it without the frill on the neckline and just finished it with the bias tape I made with the Felicite. It was super quick and easy and I made it with French seams as it finishes it off nice and neatly and is well worth the extra effort.”
“Tana Lawn is a joy to make clothes with as it is so soft and luxurious and very easy to work with. It is also feels very comfortable to wear. Combine that with beautiful designs and colourways, what more could you ask for in a fabric.”
